Your feet tell a story

I am so grateful to have found my passion in life. At A New Dawn I specialize in FOOT REFLEXOLOGY, both European and Thai. It is truly a privilege to be able to provide such a wonderful whole body system of care. I firmly believe in alternative health therapies and I love the potential to bring health and well being to my clients.

One of my favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou who said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." I want to help you feel good.

Reflexology has been practiced around the world for centuries, tracing back to ancient eastern medicine. It has been found to not only relieve pain but also promote healing. Reflexology is a natural remedy that relaxes all the body's systems from the inside out, so the body can be more effective at healing itself.

Every organ, gland and body part can be traced to over 14,000 nerve endings on your feet. Stimulating these nerve endings helps to rebalance areas of the body where there is stress or illness.

Because foot reflexology is done on the reflexes of the feet, sore spots on the body remain untouched. For example, if you have a very sore shoulder that hurts to touch, we can go to the reflex on the foot that corresponds to the shoulder. The reflex will probably be sensitive but it will be very workable to help relieve the shoulder pain.

Beyond relaxation, Reflexology has been shown to:

What happens during a Traditional Reflexology session?

With Reflexology there is no need to remove your clothes, you will not get the squished massage face and as there are no oils used so you can make plans for immediately after. My goal is to make you feel welcome and comfortable knowing you are in the hands of a professional reflexologist.

You will be asked to fill out a health record which will help me to gain an understanding of your expectations and health concerns. Sitting barefoot in a semi-reclined position in a very comfortable chair, you are able to see and share in what I am doing, or you may lie on a massage table and simply close your eyes and let your mind and body relax. I will examine your feet, perform some warms ups to help loosen and relax the muscles of the feet, and then begin the session.

Gentle pressure will be applied to the reflexes of the feet. The amount of pressure applied and the length of the session is tailored to suit your state of health. During the session you may drift off into dreamland or you may experience different sensations in your feet and body. These can vary from session to session and from person to person. Generally the session will be calming and relaxing. A gentle foot massage ends the session.

The sessions take about an hour, but allow a little more time for your first session.
